    wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

The answer to your question regarding the intention for witr or nafl prayer is that there is no hadith that tells us that the Prophet Muhammad, sallAllahu alaihi wassalam or his companions verbally made intention for even fardh salah, saying it outloud. One intends for salah in his/her heart and offers prayers accordingly. So if you are not required to make verbal intention for fardh, by default you don’t need it for witr or nafl.

  3. Silifat Tijani says:

salamun alaikum. Please wat are the steps needed to convert a disbeliever to Islam?
Secondly, what is the meaning of Silifat

  4. Umm Salman Eberle says:

    wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
Once a disbeliever has understood the fact that there is no god except Allah alone and the Prophet Muhammad is his last Messenger, he or she takes a shower with the intention of purifying him/herself, proclaims the shahaadah in front of other Muslims and starts learning prayer, Qur’an and other Islamic rituals. Also the believer is supposed to stay away from the prohibited acts/things.

As far as your name is concerned, unless it is spelled correctly in Arabic, it will be hard to find its meaning.

    wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah.

    Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Sorry brother, this is the first request we have received, it seems like cyberspace digested the first one :). We do provide translation services but only for Arabic and Urdu presently. In any case, which language do you require?

    Wassalamu alaikum

  10. Umm Salman Eberle says:

    Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,
Our belief is based on two sources of knowledge: the Qur’an and the Sunnah. Allah has informed us in surah Aal-i-Imran, verse 144:
وما محمد إلا رسول قد خلت من قبله الرسل أفإن مات أو قتل انقلبتم على أعقابكم ومن ينقلب على عقبيه فلن يضر الله شيئا وسيجزي الله الشاكرين
Muhammad is no more than an apostle: many were the apostle that passed away before him. If he died or were slain, will ye then turn back on your heels? If any did turn back on his heels, not the least harm will he do to Allah. But Allah (on the other hand) will swiftly reward those who (serve Him) with gratitude.
In surah al-Ahzaab, verse 40 we read:
ما كان محمد أبا أحد من رجالكم ولكن رسول الله وخاتم النبيين وكان الله بكل شيء عليما
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things.
In Sahih Bukhari, the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said to his companions when he forgot something in salah:
    إِنَّهُ لَوْ حَدَثَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ شَيْءٌ لَنَبَّأْتُكُمْ بِهِ وَلَكِنْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ فَإِذَا نَسِيتُ فَذَكِّرُونِي
That if something happened in the prayer , I would have informed you about it, but I am only human like you, forget as you forget, so if I forget, remind me.
    وبالله التوفيق

  11. Umm Salman Eberle says:

Among many hadiths prohibiting a woman from traveling alone is the following hadith from Sahih Muslim:
    « لاَ يَحِلُّ لاِمْرَأَةٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ تُسَافِرُ مَسِيرَةَ لَيْلَةٍ إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا رَجُلٌ ذُو حُرْمَةٍ مِنْهَا ».
It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to travel for the distance of one night’s journey except with a man who is her close relative (either her husband or someone she is prohibited to marry, eg. her brother or father etc.)
Please note that during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, traveling was done either on foot or on animal, so the distance covered in one night/ day would be very short as compared to the present times, when we travel by car or airplane.

  15. Umm Salman Eberle says:

    Unity and Totality in Worshiping Allah the Almighty and Majestic who is One, alone without partner, with full sincerity in religion and with obedient submission as a way of life;
    Unity and Totality in Following the Prophet of Allah peace and blessings be upon him;
Unification and Consolidation of the Ranks of the Muslims upon sincere Worship and sincere Following; by Knowledge, Action, Truth and Patience.

  16. Umm Salman Eberle says:

    Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Please read the articles about tauheed on the website. Knowledge of tauheed will enable you to realize the effects of it. In a nut-shell, believing in tauheed of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’aala is like enslaving oneself to one Grand-Master, which frees you from the slavery of thousands of insignificants.

  17. Umm Salman Eberle says:

    Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

    Salam alaykum w.w,

Silifat is thesame thing as Zulfah, is common in qura’n e.g Suratul mulk, Zumar etc.

    Meaning : near to Allah.

In some country like Nigeria, there pronunciation is so bad, for some Islamic name wrongly. May Allah for give us there.
